It is very important to understand how your car works. The car battery is very important, as without it, your car cannot start. The electrolyte solution and the lead plates interact to produce a chemical energy, which in turn is converted into electric energy to produce electricity for your car.
When handling a batteries one should be very careful and should use proper covering and clothing, gloves and goggles. A torch should be used instead of a match when working near the battery, switch off all possible electric appliances. Your car battery is likely to produce gases which are highly explosive.
Depending on your driving ways and maintenance of your car battery, generally a car battery is replaced with a new one after every three to five years. The way you start and stop the car engine or the climatic changes also play a very important factor to determine the life span of your car battery.
When your car is facing a starting problem, your car may need jump starting. Jumper cables are attached to a working battery and then to your car battery. The positive cable should be attached to the positive terminal of the dead energy box and then to the positive terminal of the working car battery. Now, the negative end should be attached to the negative terminal of the working car battery and the other end to a metallic part of your car engine. Make sure you do not attach the negative end of the cable to your dead battery under any circumstances. Now you can start your car engine with the help of the working energy cell. Let the engine idle for a while until you switch on the headlights of your car with your energy cell. When you turn on the lights of your car you can save the car computer from any voltage fluctuation or sparks. Once you have done all this, you can start your car with the help of your dead battery and remove all cables in reverse order. Make sure the clamps do not touch each other when removing them.

working our hands in the dirt is a form of meditation,
it carries on traditions of our ancestors,
and it slows our world down enough to enjoy spending some time with family and friends as we raise our tomato plants from infancy to maturity ... together, as my sister and I will be doing today.
Why choose organic. Simple. When your kid is playing soccer in the backyard or jumping around on the trampoline, they can walk over to your beautiful tomatoes still resting on it's vine and have a snack before going back to their play. This will cause you no concern. You used nothing while growing your tomatoes that will harm your family.
Of course, that is getting ahead of ourselves.
The reason we are visiting today about how to grow organic tomatoes is because we are not world class gardeners. My sisters green thumb feeds her family; my green thumb killed a cactus. I imagine you fall somewhere in between.
So, whatever gardening knowledge you bring to the table, join us in this simple process. Together we are going to raise some beautiful tomato plants.
What day you can start planting:
To find out what day you can start planting, you will need to know the last frost date for your area. The best site we have found to give you this information is: http://www.usagardener.com/
Count back from the last frost date you found and count back seven to ten weeks. That will be the date you can start your seeds.
To start you will need:
* Compost. Free if from your garden as we are going to use today.
* Peat. Cost about .50
* One of the following: Hummis, dirt, top soil, potting soil. Approximate cost .00
It may take some time to find one of these without some version of 'Miracle Grow".
* Organic seeds. Cost varies. Average about .69
Lisa's favorite seed companies that carry organic tomato seeds: Seeds of Change and Seed Savers.
* Bucket to mix compost, peat and Hummis in.
* Seed starter tray. We have chosen one with pop-out cells, a bottom tray that holds water, and a plastic cover.
* Popsicle sticks or something of the sort for labeling.
* Heating pad. (optional)
- Hand mix ¼ compost, ¼ Hummis, and ½ Peat in bucket.
Peat keeps the dirt mixture moist, keeping it from clumping together.
Fertilizer is not necessary. It can cause the plant to burn. Besides the seeds and dirt have everything necessary to grow and be healthy.
- Fill seed starter tray with mix. Evenly spread covering all the cells to the rim.
- Use your finger to make a small hole, approximately ¼ inch in every cell to place your seeds in.
- We place two seeds in each hole.
- Then gently recover the hole.
To wrap things up, fill bottom tray with water, replace seed cell tray, and cover with plastic lid.
Place your trays somewhere warm. Our favorite spot is the kitchen. If you decided to buy the heating pad, place your tray on that.
Check your water level several times over the next few hours. The dirt will need to soak up the water.
It will take about 6 to 10 days for your seeds to germinate.
Watch for your seeds to show even the smallest sign that their starting to pop their heads up. This is when you must take the plastic lid off. Otherwise, they will start to dampen off and wilt. You will also start giving your tomato plants less water; walk the fine line of not letting them dry out.
When your plants start to gain their true leaves we will touch base again. Our next step will be to transplant our tomato plants to peat pods. Peat pods will give room for the roots to grow.

Sometimes there is nothing quite so annoying and depressing as turning the key in your car and having nothing happen. A dead battery can be a big setback because it can occur at any time for any reason. Sometimes it is due to the cold weather and other times the battery has simply reached the end of its lifespan. There are a few ways to check if your battery is completely dead or not. Even if the car won't start, the battery may just be low or affected by outside conditions.
If you find that your car won't start and you believe it may be the battery, you need to find out if there is still any power in it. Try re-charging it first with a battery charger. Hook it up properly and see if this helps to restore any power to the system at all. If nothing happens, the battery may be dead. Extremely cold temperatures can make this tougher. A charger may have to be left on for hours before a difference is obvious.
Double check that your battery terminals are all clean and there is nothing obstructing them. They can become corroded over time and that can lead to battery issues. Be certain that anything you hook to the battery like a charger is put on the right way to avoid giving yourself a shock of any kind.
Try using a volt meter to test the level of voltage that is running through the battery. If it gives you a reading then you know that there is some kind of power running through the car. If it gives you nothing then you know that the battery is dead. If there is no power at all within it you most likely will need a new one.
To take out the battery all you really have to do is detach the cable from the negative battery terminal and then do the same on the other side with the positive battery terminal. There is often a battery clamp as well to hold it in place. Make sure that this is also detached before you try to take the battery out. Be careful when you lift the battery out. Some of them are heavy and you don't want to drop it on any other engine components or on yourself.
Once you get the old battery out you should take a good look at the battery tray. There is a good chance that you will have to give it a quick cleaning before putting a new battery in. Don't skip this step or it will be even worse the next time. Putting the new battery in is the same as taking one out. Put it in the tray properly and reattach the cables. Make sure they are hooked up to the right side of the battery. Always be careful when changing the battery so that you don't get zapped.
Make sure the battery clamp is also reattached. If anything is not tightened or placed right, the car will not start. Changing a battery is fast and easy. Be careful and you will be back on the road in no time.

A frayed string will break at just the wrong time! 2. Clean your air filter! A dirty filter will rob your engine of power. Use soapy water (dish soap works fine) to clean all parts of the airfilter, including the body. Be sure to oil the foam with filter-specific oil before running your vehicle! k, I've found the limits of a single 4Ah Nano-Tech pack. lol Take a big-block FE-428 high compression cast iron V8, try to crank it on a nice cold morning, measure current on the oscilloscope watching the current shunt at over 1000amps, have the pack sag from 12.4vdc to 7.2vdc, and the pack gets hotter in like 4-5seconds of cranking than it did during the entire integra video. lol For the voltage to drop that low, it was DEFINITELY saturated for current delivery capacity, and was way out of it's linear region on the internal resistance curve. So, a single 4Ah 3s Nano-Tech pack may work, but is strongly not recommended for starting your old-school cast iron high compression 428cubic inch (7 liter) V8 engines on cold mornings. lol

CAN'T GET IN!

WARM UP YOUR CAR
A little-known solution is to fit an engine warmer. These turn on by themselves at a preset time and warm the motor before driving off.
